Our client, healthcare technology company Theranos, has been making waves in the news for their innovative and cost-effective blood testing technology. Clive Wilkinson Architects are currently collaborating on their new 116,000 SF headquarters in Palo Alto, California.

CWA recently finished Gerson Lehrman Group’s new 63,000 SF headquarters in New York City. GLG occupies a unique niche of business expertise as knowledge brokers. Their goal is to transform the way the world’s top professionals share knowledge and learn. Our team helped shape the transition of their growing company to a highly collaborative workplace for 300 staff, specifically tailored to host knowledge sharing events.

One of our most experimental projects, for internet ad agency The Barbarian Group, has been featured on the cover of Interior Design’s May issue! After a challenging design and CNC production process of building the monolithic 1,100-foot desk, the Superdesk went viral earlier this year in The New York Times, the New Yorker, and global webzines (the project currently has nearly 20,000 views on our Behance page). Interior Design covers its superdeskness in a great color spread.

The Barbarian Group’s Superdesk was featured in the New Yorker (“Superdesk Party,” April 14), detailing Nick Paumgarten’s unique encounter with the endless table. The piece was accompanied a brilliant illustration by Tom Bachtell (a print of which is now displayed in CWA’s offices).

At Design Indaba in February, Clive sat down with Dezeen and spoke about the imperative of moving away from cubicles and the importance of considering the interiors of buildings and the impact they have on the people who interact with them.
